I began the process of coming out on February 28, 2019. That process began with coming out to myself and with my wife. The next person I told was my then principal, followed by individuals in my life. Later that spring I came out to the staff of my school. And finally, in May of that year, to the students at my school.

And in coming out publicly I was brought out nationwide through national hate media. I've been run through their mill twice. I don't dwell in that harm, but I do acknowledge it. And I have worked since to restore my name.
